Sam Allardyce: Why Big Sam Is The Right Man For The England Job

Sam Allardyce is expected to be announced as the newly appointed England manager anytime from now, according to a report by The Mirror.

Allardyce- who is still by contract the Sunderland- is to take over the mantle from Roy Hodgson who resigned immediately after England’s humiliating round of 16 elimination from the European Championship by Iceland.

One Wednesday, Allardyce oversaw Sunderland’s first pre-season friendly against North East rivals Hartlepool, but the match is expected to be his first and last for the Black Cats this season pending ongoing talks between the club and the FA.

Emerging reports from the Stadium of Light reveal that Sunderland have been holding talks with former Everton and Manchester United manager David Moyes over replacing the Englishman.

 

Heavily experienced

The 61-year old has a wealth of experience having managed various Premier League clubs like Bolton Wanderers, Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers, but his biggest achievement remains to be West Ham United’s elevation from a Championship side to a stable Premier League outfit.

Allardyce left the Hammers right before commencement of the 2015/16 season after falling out with the fans over his tactics and playing style.

As of Thursday morning, his name had been forwarded to a three-man FA panel comprising of Chief Executive Martin Glenn, Technical Director Dan Ashworth and Vice-chairman David Gill- who also served as Chief Executive for Manchester United during the latter stages of Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign.

 

Possesses the needed qualities for the job

Big Sam has received strong backing from Jose Mourinho and long-term friend and foe Sir Alex Ferguson.

Steve Bruce, Eddie Howe and Jurgen Klinsmann were all shortlisted, but it appears Big Sam is the frontrunner in taking up the position.

Sam Allardyce has the zeal and temperament needed for the England job, and being a native of the country is an invaluable add-on.
