Burnley v Chelsea (Prediction 2-1)
Burnley have done quite well against Chelsea of late, only losing one of their last four meetings.
Burnley were victorious at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season, a 3-2 win, where Sam Vokes (x2) and Stephen Ward’s goals gave the claret and blue side a 3-0 lead and Chelsea fought back but the damage was already done. Burnley did have a huge dip in form mid-season which speaks wonders for how they’ve managed to remain in and around seventh place.
A win tonight will take Burnley into sixth place, ahead of Arsenal, whom would have a game in hand. Sean Dyche has done a fantastic job with Burnley and deserves all the praise he gets. They are on a run of five wins in a row and I believe they can extend that run tonight.
Chelsea are hard to rely on this season and even after the comeback win over Southampton last weekend, I think they might slip up again here.
That said, Tottenham’s draw with Brighton on Tuesday night should have given the blues some small hope of snatching a place in the top four come the last day of the season.
Leicester v Southampton (Prediction 1-2)
Leicester have lost to Burnley and Newcastle in their last two. With their future secured they have very little to play for other than pride. Southampton need the win tonight and they’ve shown some fight under Mark Hughes in recent losses to Arsenal and Chelsea.
The open relegation battle that we’ve been treated to throughout this season is closing and time is running out for the Saints. I’m taking a chance on them to get the three points tonight.
