Newly promoted side Middlesbrough have been making the most of this transfer market and have already signed ample of quality players that can prove to be the underdogs and have a brilliant Premier League season.

Middlesbrough FC boss Aitor Karanka has taken no rest and has managed to sign his top targets, with the transfer deadline day still a long way to go.

The most impressive

Alvaro Negredo seems to be Aitor’s most impressive signing, as the player joined on loan from Spanish side Valencia.

Negredo is not a new face to the Premier League, as the Spanish player has previously spent time at Manchester City.

The 30 year old striker arrived from Sevilla for a fee of £16.4 million back in the 2013/14 season at the Etihad stadium. Even with his one year stint at the club, he managed to score 23 goals in 48 games.

However, in 2014, Valencia came calling and the player signed a loan deal with an obligatory purchase clause and eventually at the end of the season, Los Che purchased his rights for a reported fee of €27 million.

Things took a wrong turn and Alvaro lost his place in the first team back in October 2015, when he criticized his manager Nuno Espirito Santo for his tactics.

After Middlesbrough were involved against Alcorcon with a friendly match, Karanka said the following after Alvaro Negredo opened his goalscoring account, “We can’t forget that Valencia paid €30 million for him two years ago so a player like him, you don’t forget how to play. Last season he didn’t play his best and I am sure we will see his best this season. He’s a really good player and a player who can play in the Premier League for sure.”

Expect goals aplenty

With the new addition of notable players like Victor Valdes, Viktor Fischer, Gaston Ramirez, Marten de Roon and Antonio Barragan, the Riverside Stadium looks to be a fortress.

With Alvaro Negredo at strike, Middlesbrough fans can expect plenty of goals as he is known for his lethal left foot and will look to regain his form.

Strong in the air and with plenty of physical play, Negredo for sure won’t give a minute’s rest to the opposition and will try to live up to manager Aitor Karanka’s expectations.
