West Ham United fans who enjoy soccer betting online have reason to be optimistic.

Not only did the Hammers have their best finish since returning to the Premier League in 2012-13, but a few new arrivals could propel the team into improving their 7th place from last season.

The 2016-17 batch of transfers is headlined by Arthur Masuaku, a 22 year old French prospect who has made a name for himself Superleague Greece and is ready to make the leap to a more competitive tournament.

A Greek league sensation

Masuaku made his professional debut with Valenciennes FC in 2013. He scored his first official goal in a loss to Marseille on 29th January, 2014.

The left back signed with Olympiacos in 2014 and made his Greek league debut versus Niki Volos F.C.

In his third Superleague match, Masuaku made two assists to help his team defeat OFI Crete 3-0.

Three days after that, the Lille native scored a goal in his UEFA Champions League debut, a 3-2 win over Atletico de Madrid.

As a member of the soccer betting online favorite Olympiacos, Masuaku won two Superleague Greece championships and one Greek Cup.

He signed a four-year, £6.2 million deal with West Ham United on August 8th, 2016.

Another inspiring addition

The Hammers signed Ghanaian striker Andre Ayew on the same day.

The 2011 BBC African Footballer of the Year and Ghanaian Footballer of the Year started his international career with Olympique de Marseille in 2007.

Following an uneventful rookie year, Ayew was sent to Lorient and then Arles Avignon to hone his skills for a couple of seasons.

The move paid off, and the 26 year old scored 13 goals when he returned to Marseille in 2010.

After 202 games and 60 goals with Les Olympiens, Ayew signed with Swansea City of the Premier League in 2015.

The Ghanaian scored in three goals of his first four games in England and finished the season with 12 goals.

Astute acquisitions

While soccer betting online fans have yet to see what Masuaku and Ayew can really bring to the table for West Ham, other additions have already give the team’s followers a taste of what they are capable of.

Algerian winger Sofiane Feghouli, who signed with West Ham for three years in June, made his debut with the team on July 28th in a 3rd round Europa League qualifier versus NK Domzale, and scored his first goal a week later in the return match.

And Norwegian defensive midfielder Håvard Nordtveit made his debut on the same day as Feghouli and played all 90 minutes.

The Algerian’s previous team was Valencia of the Spanish league, while Nordtveit plied his trade with Borussia Mönchengladbach of the German Bundesliga.

Exciting outlook with lots of promise

However, though we have not seen them in action yet, Masuaku and Ayew should be able to complement West Ham’s top goal scorers Dimitri Payet, Andy Carroll, and Michail Antonio, and give this team the offensive edge that it has not had since the days of Paolo Di Canio in the late 90s and early 2000s.
