ESPN, via The Sun, report that Borussia Dortmund wonder kid Christian Pulisic is being pursued by Europe’s elite.
Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham are all intent on bringing the American international to the Premier League.
The 19-year-old was snapped up by Dortmund when he first burst onto the scene and has since progressed into an exciting young talent, and has been crucial in the German side’s acceleration to the top of the Bundesliga, netting twice and assisting once.
The fact that Dortmund lost one of its prized assets during the summer – Ousmane Dembele if you had your head under the sand – means any pursuit of Pulisic is likely to be met with refusal.
Yet, as the exit of Dembele has shown, every player has their price – it is just that with Dembele going for over a 100 million euros, any deal for Pulisic will likely be around that figure.
This is likely to deter Premier League clubs, but should the U.S. international have a potent year, the Premier League big boys might be willing to dive into their funds.
There is no doubting Pulisic’s potential, and the quality is there to see, but questions linger over whether he has the aptitude to become the world beater that such suggested figures demand.
