Champ of the Match: Cristiano Ronaldo

Moaned and groaned against Denmark and Germany, but was fascinating to watch tonight. Scorer of both Portugal’s goals, and were done in style. Probably should’ve completed a hat-trick but couldn’t quite manage it.
Hit the post towards the end of the game, but proved tonight he can convert his club form to international level. Looks like he could threaten as Portugal qualify from their group.
Chump of the Match: Gregory Van Der Wiel

Linked with a move to Chelsea or Real Madrid, but if you rated him after this performance you’d probably question how he got into the Dutch lineup. Hopeless, hapless, embarrassing display from the full-back.
Let Postiga, and Ronaldo in behind him numerous times. He was a joke tonight, such a big one that only the performance of the Dutch national team could top it. Shameful.
Tweets of the Match
@NarayanDeb – The Dutch just refuse to defend. Even Titus Bramble would be ashamed to be part of it.
@samuelj29060 – Brilliant brilliant counter. Holland’s defence is… well they don’t have a defence. Nani excellent assist.
@CainJBennett – I’d even go as far as saying England could beat this Dutch side.
What to expect next for Portugal and Germany
Both teams have been lucky that Poland and Russia were surprisingly knocked out. Portugal have got to play like this again, they were fantastic, could’ve, and probably should’ve, beat them by 5/6 goals.
As for Germany, they’ve got to just be as resilient as ever. Brilliant as always.
