Spain 1-0 Croatia: (Jesus Navas 88′)
Champ of the Match: Andres Iniesta
|Taken from Yahoo Sports|
His passing skills were brilliant today. His performance was expected. It’s hard to act enthusiastic about the way he performed, because it’s so typical from the Barcelona midfielder.
Held the ball well, and played it around. Involved in majority of play, and assisted Navas’ tap-in goal that he scored from.
Chump of the Match: Marko Mandzukic
|Taken from The Guardian|
Prolific against Ireland and Italy, but failed to fire tonight. Was in the fray for a goal though, with chances coming in both halves.
Probably the worst moment for him in this game, was the shocking decision that was to not give him a penalty, after Ramos clearly went in on the forward with studs up. Stonewall penalty. Disappointing.
Referee: Wolfgang Stark

Good game, but missed a game-changing decision. Denying Mandzukic a clear penalty, after Ramos went studs up on the Wolfsburg striker. Embarrassing decision.
Tweets of the Match
@WeAreAFC – Tempers in the crowd at the Croatia-Spain game are beginning to flare up a little.
@samuelj29060 – Real Madrid midfielder Modric having a stormer. Rakitic didn’t score a league goal last season for Sevilla. No surprise.
@CainTalksFooty – Gutted for Croatia. Played, well did well tonight. Very unlucky. Shame they weren’t drawn in group A.
What to expect next from Spain and Italy
Spain are likely to continue their excellence. I can seem them reaching the final again. As for Italy, they could struggle against France/England. It’s been a while since we’ve seen the best from them in a major tournament.
Could definitely make an interesting watch.
