The draw for the next round of Scottish has been done and defending champion, Celtic have been drawn against rival side, Patrick Thistle. The fifth round of the cup competition will have both Glasgow club slug it out. Patrick Thistle got to the stage by defeating Queen of the South 2-1 while Celtic thrashed Brechin 5-0. So both sides will play each other with Celtic being the host.
Other top draws for the fifth round for the Scottish cup have Rangers face Ayr United, that’s if they defeat Fraserburgh in round four. Hearts will face either Albion Rovers or St Johnson after they move past rivals, Hibernian 1-0 last Sunday.
Celtic will hope to retain this cup and make it a back to back win for the team. Manager, Brendan Rodger is willing to make sure his team does not relinquish their cup. Celtic under Brendan Rodgers have been an instant success in the country and he’s not willing to stop any time soon.
With five trophies already in the bag since joining Celtic, the Scottish cup will not be a bad idea to make it six.
The quality of players at their disposal still put them favorite to retain it. Whatever happens in the Cup, Celtic still have a chance at every tournament they are in at the moment. They are favourite to retain the league.
Whatever Rodgers and the board have in stock, one of their top priorities have to be able to keep their top players like Moussa Dembele. Also a fight for a European dominance, maybe in the Europa league should be an agenda for next season as the plan for that has to start now. Rodgers have to start turning Celtic to a European club not but only tyrant in Scotland.
