Rumors continue to run wild with the latest man involved: Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez.

According to recent reports, Chelsea are set to make a whopping offer for the Colombian playmaker in January.

As reported by the Daily Express:

“The Colombian has been in and out of Zinedine Zidane’s side this season and is reportedly frustrated at not being given a regular starting role.

Rodriguez was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer, but Real weren’t willing to let him leave.

Express Sport understands Antonio Conte and Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho are both battling for his signature as they look to offer him a way out of the Spanish capital.

And according to The Mirror, Chelsea are ready to splash the cash in January in order to finally bring him to England.

Chelsea look set to pocket £62m from the sale of Oscar to Shanghai SIPG and the report claims they will use that money to try and tempt Real into a deal for Rodriguez.”

Worth the punt?

Despite the price tag, I still believe Rodriguez would be a great addition to any side. With Oscar reportedly set on leaving, Chelsea are expected to seek a replacement and Rodriguez would fit that bill.

But would such a deal occur in the January window? Not so sure.
