According to reports, Everton considered making a deadline day move for West Ham goalkeeper Adrian.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton manager Ronald Koeman pulled the plug after Joel Robles recent impressive performances in between the sticks for the Toffees.

The West Ham goalkeeper has fallen out of favour this season and was reportedly available for a transfer this month. He was reportedly on a shortlist drawn up by the Everton manager as potential replacements for Joel Robles.

Robles endured a difficult start this season and was even demoted in favour of new signing Maarten Stekelenburg, but the Spaniard has bounced back superbly with his performances aiding the Toffees in their climb in the Premier League table and their challenge to win a European spot next season.

And this has not gone unnoticed by Koeman:

““It’s not fair to speak about who is the No1 and who is the No2.

“But, of course, Joel is doing well, there is no reason at the moment to change that.

“He gave that competition after a disappointing period in the summer because Maarten was the goalkeeper who played in the beginning.”
