Like myself, I’m sure all Arsenal fans have on their mind what exciting new prospects will be on the back of Arsenal shirts next season. With two signings finished, one on the way, and many rumours hovering around, things are looking bright for next season.

Lukas Podolski, an extremely exciting addition to the squad. Especially if he hits form, he could turn out brilliantly. Meanwhile, target man Olivier Giroud does what it says on the tin, which is to score goals.

Although it’s not finished yet, another marquee signing we’re closing in on is French international Yann M’Vila. Other names like Craig Gordon and Lewis Holtby are also fairly likely to be sought after, too.

Here is a potential line-up and bench for the coming season. Comment and please tell me any players missed, etc.

Szczesny

Sagna - Vermaelen - Koscielny - Gibbs

Wilshere - M’Vila

Walcott - Van Persie - Podolski

Giroud

Bench: Gordon, Mertesacker, Santos, Song, Arteta, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Dempsey

There a few questionable decisions, such as leaving the likes of Andre Santos, Song, Arteta, the Ox and Mertesacker out of the starting line-up.

One hard area to resolve will be the left-back spot. It is open and will be fought out during the season. Consequently, Santos could break into the team. The midfield will also be a hard decision for Mr.Wenger.

With the likes of Frimpong, Coquelin, and Oxlade-Chamberlain breaking through, and established Mikel Arteta, Tomas Rosický and Aaron Ramsey trying to get into the line-up, Wenger will have a problem choosing this area. This is the most likely team for next year, in my opinion. I think the best two for this position will be Wilshere and M’Vila.

Also, Craig Gordon on the bench isn’t extremely likely for next season. I’m not sure what Wenger and Gazidis have in line, so I can’t tell you what ‘keepers will be signed to replace Fabianski, Almunia and possibly Mannone. I also can’t tell you any news on Lopez, apart from reports about an agreed fee. I put him in the team as I think the possibility of him signing is fairly likely.

I like the look of this team. Many others will agree that it has tremendous balance, with Wilshere and M’Vila defending the back four and covering the likes of Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott when they’re high up the pitch.

Also, the back four itself looks to have resolved its own problem. Kos the boss [Koscielny] and the Verminator [Vermaelen] have look solid. Both are very reliable, and I think we can count on them. Full-backs have been ever-changing this last season.

Djourou struggled, and Coquelin didn’t look exactly comfortable. If Gibbs stays fit for long enough, he’ll be noticed as a quality left-back and will push for the England team. I was the first to say this, and I stick by it. He has never-ending potential. I also love Sagna, as we all do! He’s starting to age though, and as much as I like Jenkinson, I’m not fully confident that he’d make any Arsenal team of the last 20 years.

The signings I think we need are Giroud, M’Vila, and Vertonghen. If we can sign Vertonghen, I’d be ecstatic. He’s on his way to Spurs though. In my opinion, we need a defender. We leaked goals last season, so although we have Giroud and Podolski, we definitely need a defender to secure a strong back four, and have some vital strength-in-depth.

Problems aside though, we have a title-challenging team next season! Players like Arshavin and Denilson were affected by abuse… And look at them now! Haha. Let’s get behind the lads, and hopefully we’ll have a trophy or two next season. Believe. Come on you gooners!
