Marco Reus has been identified as a priority target by Arsene Wenger, according to reports from the The Telegraph.

What does this mean for Sanchez and Ozil?

In a move that suggests negotiations between the club and Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are beginning to breakdown, Wenger is seeking a replacement.

The German striker has been a fixture on the sidelines this season with injuries hampering his year.

Yet, when fully fit and match sharp there is no doubting his star quality; viewed as a direct replacement for the industrious, but magical Sanchez, Reus would easily assimilate into the Arsenal approach.

Likely?

Although Reus penned a contract lasting until 2019, his move to the Emirates does not seem as implausible as it first appears.

Reus has had to watch Borussia Dortmund’s top players leave whilst he remains loyal, for minimal reward, and has had to observe Dortmund’s status as a European powerhouse under Klopp falter as they fail to compete with the dominance of Bayern Munich.

Likely to receive a huge pay-rise, Reus’ head might finally be turned by an offer from Arsenal.
