Arsenal are vying with Bayern Munich for one of Europe’s hottest prospects.

16 year-old Vincent Thill has burst onto the scene this year, making his Ligue 1 debut for Metz and for national side Luxemburg, becoming the first player born in the millennium to score an international goal – netting in the last minute in a 3-1 defeat to Nigeria last May.

According to TalkSport, Arsenal and Bayern are in the leading pack to sign Thill, with a host of other clubs also purported to be interested.

What would the deal look like?

Both clubs have held talks with the club, the player’s agent and the player; any potential deal would see Hill re-join Metz on loan.

With Thill aged only 16 the transfer fee is set to be a considerable one, with add-ons included.

As with precocious talents, one can never truly foresee their development, so it is likely the initial transfer fee will rise with appearances and goals.

Arsenal and Munich both have reputations of nurturing youth, so the midfielder will have a tough decision on his hands – however, given Arsene Wenger’s native French tongue it would seem he would be the best fit to develop his talents.
