According to a tweet by Aston Villa owner Tony Xia, Jordan Veretout has the permission to leave Villa Park when his loan contract with St Etienne expires at the end of the season.
As reported by the Birmingham Mail:
“Jordan Veretout will be granted a permanent move away from Aston Villa when his loan spell at Saint Etienne expires.
The 23-year-old is staying at the Ligue 1 side until the end of the season and will not be moving elsewhere despite reports linking him with Juventus today.
The Serie A giants will consider a move in the summer and Veretout is expected to have other options to weigh up, including a permament switch to his current loan club.
Villa boss Tony Xia tweeted today: “We will accept this Jordan leaving as he didn’t feel happy at Villa.”
The Frenchman has featured 21 times for St Etienne this season and is looking forward to a last-32 Europa League tie with Manchester United in the New Year.”
