More rumors as the January transfer window dawns upon us with the Serie A side again involved.

According to the latest reports and gossip, Atalanta’s rising star Franck Kessie is on Chelsea’s radar as a possible replacement for the likely outgoing Oscar.

As reported by Goal.com,

“Chelsea are now favourites to land Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie, according Corriere dello Sport.

The 19-year-old has attracted interest from a number of European clubs including Manchester City and Manchester United, while Everton are also said to be keen.

Kessie’s five goals from midfield have helped Atalanta climb to sixth in the Serie A table and have seen his reputation in Italy rise considerably, with Italian champions Juventus reportedly among his Serie A admirers.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, however, has been tracking the midfielder for some time and there could be an opening in his midfield on the back of Oscar’s proposed move to Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG.”

A decent addition?

If the rumors are true and with Fabregas not getting any younger and Oscar possibly departing, then Kessie may be worth taking a punt on.

Chelsea could use a rising prospect, especially an attack-minded midfielder.
