The Sunday Express are reporting that West Ham have “emerged as front runners in the race the land the England International”.

The Mirror have also reported that West Ham are desperate for a “high-class marksman”.

Sturridge has yet to make a permanent impression under Klopp and is no longer in the German’s long-term plans, the Express believe.

The England striker has yet to register a single Premier League goal this season and as memories of that prolific season with Luis Suarez begin to fade, the Liverpool faithful are becoming increasingly frustrated with his performances.

How likely?

With Danny Ings out for a large spell, and Sadio Mane set for an extended absence with the African Cup of Nations, it remains unlikely that Klopp would allow Sturridge to move in January.

However, this does not rule out an exit in the summer and it has been reported that a £25 million bid from the Hammers in the summer would be enough to prize Sturridge from Anfield, if the striker’s form does not substantially improve.
