According to the latest reports, Southampton are eyeing a move for Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho.

Sakho has been cast aside by manager Klopp and has made only five appearances for the club this season.

As reported by the Daily Express:

“The France international has been cast aside by Jurgen Klopp ever since he was sent home early from the team’s pre-season tour of the USA.

And the arrival of defensive duo Ragnar Klavan and Joel Matip means he is now surplus to requirements at Anfield.

Publication Get French Football claim Southampton are showing interest in the 26-year-old and could offer him a lifeline in January.

The report says Saints are ‘heavily considering’ a deal for the former Paris Saint-Germain who has Premier League and Champions League experience.

“Southampton are heavily considering a move for Liverpool central defender Mamadou Sakho. More follows,” Get French Football tweeted.”
