Pep Guardiola rumours can finally be put to rest thanks to the untimely statement from Manchester City that said he would replace Manuel Pellegrini by the end of this season. Enough has already been deliberated about the impact of this announcement on the dressing room atmosphere until the end of the season.

What will he bring to the plate?

Is England his final stop?

The Spanish manager has won 19 of the 30 competitions that his team have competed in, including three La Liga titles, two Champions Leagues and two Bundesliga titles (a likely third as the Bavarians now enjoy an 8-point cushion at the top). At a tender age of 45, he has already won everything in Spain and Germany and has now set his sights on England.

Arrival and unearthing of talent pool at Etihad Stadium

During his Barcelona spell, Thiago Alcantara, Sergio Busquets, Rafinha Alcantara, Marc Bartra and Gerard Deulofeu all debuted for the Catalan outfit and have now established themselves as first-team regulars at Europe’s best clubs. In addition, he has been decisive in the upbringing of Kingsley Coman, Joshua Kimmich and the likes at the Allianz Arena.

Critically acclaimed for grooming raw talents, Pep Guardiola will ostensibly be a key factor in bringing the best out of Kelechi Iheanacho, Raheem Sterling and other youngsters.

In addition to grooming raw talents, he has been a figure of attraction during transfer windows, given the case of Francesc Fabregas, and he will doubtless lure world-class players to Etihad Stadium once he steps in. Rumour has it that his arrival will coincide with the signing of Paul Pogba and Lionel Messi, and for a change, it comes across as believable.

What could Pep Guardiola possibly not achieve?

Pep Guardiola has clinched trophies in his debut seasons with both Barcelona and Bayern Munich; a similar feat will be expected of him. As the Blues already pose a credible threat to win the title, his coaching intelligence should easily propel the Citizens into unparalleled dominance on the English soil.

To think Sheikh Mansour could hand him an unlimited warchest (in compliance with Financial Fair Play rules, of course).

Will he have it easy in England?

Much like his previous employers, the Manchester-based club also offers him the perfect scenario to win everything, and the current plight of Manchester United and Chelsea only seem to make it easier for him.

Despite Liverpool treading their road to redemption, the Reds faithful may need to wait at least two more seasons to see them on the same page as the Etihad Stadium club. On the other hand, Arsenal remain as inconsistent as Arsenal.

Even though Bacary Sagna, Yaya Toure and the likes are on the wrong side of thirty, they also have young lads, who would travel distances with their new manager. As no club has established their dominance in the Premier League this season, he will doubtless take the English top-flight by the storm next season.
