Pep Guardiola will splash the cash in January, as he has been handed a £250 million transfer kitty by Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour.

City have faltered this season, failing to make an impact on the title race, with ambitions of winning the league all but over – Chelsea have opened up a 10 point lead over Guardiola’s men.

The ex-Barca boss has spoken to club officials and demanded a complete overhaul of the squad; he believes it needs significant improvements if he is going to lead City to a second Premier League title.

Star-studded wishlist

The Daily Star are reporting that Guardiola has compiled a star-studded wishlist.

City fans will have their heart beating as Guardiola is targeting: Alexis Sanchez, Koke, Virgil Van Dijk and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Sanchez’s future at Arsenal is uncertain, whilst Aubameyang will almost certainly leave Borussia Dortmund in the coming years.

Needs to move fast

Guardiola had already spent £150 million in the summer, so a number of faces will have to be shown the door if he is to bring in new recruits.

With half of the window already gone, Guardiola will have to move fast if he is to assemble his desired squad.
