According to the latest reports, Manchester United and Manchester City are set to duke it out for the services of Juventus left-back Alex Sandro.

The Brazilian has proven himself as one of the best left-backs in Europe in recent times.

As reported by the Express:

“Sandro has helped Juventus win 14 of their first 17 league games in Serie A this term.

His fine form has not gone unnoticed with several European giants keeping tabs on him.

And Italian website Calcio Mercato claim that Manchester United and Manchester City are desperate to snap him up.

United are in need of a left-back with Jose Mourinho said to be unconvinced by the current players at his disposal.

Mourinho has been publicly critical of Luke Shaw while Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind have also struggled for consistency.

City, meanwhile, have an ageing squad that Pep Guardiola is keen to bolster when the transfer window reopens next month.”
