Antoine Griezmann has given Manchester United a massive boost in their bid to land the Frenchman.

Griezmann said that a move to Old Trafford was ‘possible’, and rated his chances of joining Jose Mourinho at 6/10.

The 26-year-old was speaking on French TV show Quotidien.

The Verdict

This is the transfer story that will not go away. Now, it is sure to continue.

Manchester United desperately need another striker, given Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s injury probably meaning he will not be at United next year.

Obviously, Griezmann is a world-class talent – he was named 3rd best player in the world in this January’s Ballon d’Or.

There remains some doubt over his place in the team, but 90% of United fans would love to see him adorn the red shirt.

However, if United fail to qualify for the Champions League, Griezmann’s potential move to United will turn improbable.

So much rests upon United’s Europa League final on Wednesday – they need European football to attract the biggest names and cement their dominance on the world stage once again.

If United win, you would be reasonable in suggesting Griezmann’s move to Manchester would increase to 8/10.
