With Jose Mourinho in charge of Manchester United, he looks to build a team, tailored to his specifications, and clear out the dust left by his predecessors, Van Gaal and Moyes.

Here are four players Manchester United should look to sign this summer.

Marco Verratti

The Italian midfielder has been a conductor at Paris St Germain. His agility to cover the pitch, his ability to spread the ball, and his stability on the ball, is what Manchester United’s midfield desires.

The 24 year old will compliment Manchester United’s Paul Pogba excellently, as both are gifted playmakers, as well as being able to track back to defend.

Verratti would give a fierce outlook to United’s team, and is exactly what they need if they want to compete for the title next season.

Alvaro Morata

There has been great speculation around the Real Madrid man on a move to Manchester. But why would he fit?

With the departure of the Swede goal machine, Zlatan Ibrahimović, and Wayne Rooney’s future being unclear at the club. Morata can fit neatly in the attacking line up.

The striker has scored 14 goals in 15 appearances in La Liga, but when competing for a place against the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema, it is difficult to see the light of day.

With consistent playing time, the Spaniard can develop further into a prolific goal scorer at the Salford based club.

Gareth Bale

The signing of Bale would no doubt, cause shockwaves throughout the footballing world, and Mourinho is not one to shy away from making such bold statements.

There were rumours that the Welshman could be signing for Man. United, before moving to Real Madrid in 2013. A player as skilful, and talented as Gareth Bale, would be able to instantly sync with the attacking force at the Red Devils.

But, Real Madrid have previously negotiated to try and swoop United’s shot stopper, David De Gea. Such negotiations failed, however if Man. United want one of Madrid’s star players, then they may look to go tic-for-tac.

A previous Welsh winger has gone down a legend at Man. United, and there’s a spare number 7 shirt lying around at the club… So, no pressure Gareth.

Fabinho

A player who can clean up across the midfield, and protect the back line. Monaco’s holding midfielder should be on Mourinho’s radar.

The 23 year old had made a huge impact at the Ligue 1 club, who won the league this season, playing in 37 of their 38 games, and scoring 9 goals.

The 23 year old Brazilian is a versatile player, also possessing the ability to play at right back. Fabinho’s composure to hold the ball, and orchestrate play will be influential at United.
