According to the Daily Express, Real Madrid are keeping an eye on Manchester United starlet Marcus Rashford.

As reported by the Daily Express’ Bruce Archer:

“Rashford broke into the Manchester United team last season and has progressed into a full England international.

He’s scored three Premier League goals this season in eight appearances under Jose Mourinho.

And, according to Spanish website diariomadridista, Rashford is in the ‘crosshairs’ of Real Madrid.

The website speculates that the 19-year-old would be the youngest member of Zinedine Zidane’s squad were he to join next summer.

Rashford came through the youth ranks at United and was the only Mancunian on display during the Manchester derby last season - when he scored the only goal against Manchester City.

He signed a new contract at United in May, keeping him tied down until 2020, and described them as the ‘biggest club in the world’.

And reports circulated in September suggesting he was set for another deal.

He scored eight times in 18 appearances last season after making his debut in February against Danish side Midtjylland, in which he scored twice.

In June he signed a boot deal with Nike reported to be worth around £2 million.

Real Madrid currently have Karim Benzema and Alvaro Morata to chose from as their central striker between Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.”

What to think of this?

Well, I wouldn’t be surprised if Real Madrid (and other major sides) are coveting his services. Rashford is a top talent.

But with United recently rubber-stamping a new deal with the starlet, it seems they’re invested in him and see the 19 year old as an important component for years to come.

Therefore, I think a deal is unlikely.
