TRANSFER NEWS: Everton set their sights on Man United flop

Reports continue to circulate over Depay’s future at Old Trafford. The Dutchman seems destined to depart United in January with Everton heavily-linked with the winger.

As reported by The Mirror:

“Everton have stepped up their pursuit of Memphis Depay follow Yannick Bolasie’s season-ending injury, according to a report in The Sun.

Toffees winger Bolasie suffered serious knee ligament damage in the draw with Manchester United on Sunday and could be sidelined for a year.

Depay would be a natural replacement for Bolasie on Everton’s left flank.

The Dutchman, 22, has disappointed massively since his £25 million transfer from PSV Eindhoven 18 months ago and is the only member of United’s senior squad to have started just one game this season.”

Should Everton seek his services?

Depay hasn’t had the best of stints at United, but he still is a talented individual and could benefit from a change of environment.

With a fellow Dutchman in Koeman in charge of Everton, the winger could receive the support and trust he so desperately needs at this stage of his career.
