The January transfer news is closing in and the reports are going into overload. The latest report links Manchester United with a move for PSG star Edinson Cavani.

As reported by The Mirror:

“Manchester United could be poised to pluck Paris Saint-Germain’s top scorer for a second consecutive season with Edinson Cavani refusing to commit his future to the French champions.

The Uruguayan has been high on Jose Mourinho ‘s since his second spell as Chelsea boss and he could make a move for him in the summer, according to the Sunday Express .

The 29-year-old has netted 14 in 14 in his new role leading the line for the Ligue 1 outfit.

Cavani’s current deal runs out in 2018 and he is apparently stalling in penning a new three-year contract.

He could replace his former strike partner Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Old Trafford, with rumours the Swede could be set for MLS after a year in Manchester.”

Should United seek his services?

Not sure. I mean in one had, if Zlatan is leaving then a new striker would be a viable need and Cavani is an excellent forward regardless of his Champions League form.

But on the other hand, what would happen to Martial and Rashford? Two young talents who have the ability to lead the line for years to come.

What do you think?
