Manchester United are reportedly keen on breaking the bank to sign Brazilian superstar Neymar in a deal that could see the Red Devils shatter the world transfer record which United’s Pogba currently holds.

It’s no secret that Manchester United have been interested in the Barcelona Ace for quite some time.

Ageing forwards

With Rooney and Ibrahimović showing signs of ageing, Mourinho may look to Neymar to provide an extra spark and dynamic to Manchester United’s defence.

We’ve just entered December and with that comes a flurry of rumours, some of them true, most of them untrue, but judging by the previous interest in Neymar and United’s current predicament, there could be some truth to the transfer.

Desperate

Signing Neymar could be a big desperate attempt to get United back to the pinnacle of English football – the Brazil international is one of the most skilful players in the modern game, along with that, he’s also capable of scoring a multitude of goals and creating chances for his teammates.

Despite Neymar only just signing a contract extension at Barcelona, his release clause didn’t see a significant change which could more or less see Mourinho make a spirited attempt to splash the cash on the superstar forward.

Highly unlikely

A move for Neymar in January is highly unlikely seeing as Barca doesn’t have much of a history of doing business in January compared to other clubs around Europe.

As it stands, Mourinho could be preparing a deal ahead of the Summer transfer window at the end of the season.
