Everton striker Romelu Lukaku joined the club back in 2013 from Chelsea and then signed for them for a record fee of twenty-eight million pounds.
It was a huge amount of money for the Toffees, but the forward has been a great free bets value having been one of the leading goal scorers in the Premier League and has been a leading bonus with bookmakers offering free bets for individual players to score consistently.
Encouraged to move on
The Everton manager was recently quoted in the newspaper HLM from Belgian saying that the forward had great potential and one that could not be fulfilled by Everton.
The Dutch manager went on to say that if the player stayed at the club until the end of his career he will regret it as he will have left something behind.
Koeman was instrumental in managing to convince the star striker to stay at the club for one more season to help him develop into an even better player.
Likely his final season
It looks very likely that this will be the last season that Lukaku plays for Everton.
During the summer, the club had to fight off offers from larger teams that play in the Champions League every season.
Everton will not sell their star man without a battle though and are desperately trying to tie him to a long-term contract and are willing to make him the highest paid player at Goodison Park.
All free bets are off for bookmakers offers relating to his eventual move.
Comparisons with Kluivert
The manager in the past has compared Romelu with legendary Holland and Barcelona forward Patrick Kluivert. Koeman used to manage the Dutch forward when he managed the national side along with Barcelona and PSV.
At international level, Kluivert played 79 times and managed to score a total of 40 goals. He is now the Paris St-Germain director of football.
Romelu Lukaku is now under contract with the club until 2019.
In 137 appearances for the team, he has managed to score 68 goals for them. Finding a new striker that is able to consistently put the ball in the back of the next each year, is something that is extremely hard to find.
If he does leave like expected, it will have a huge impact on Everton if they can not find a top class star to replace him.
One possible recruitment Everton is considering is a move for out of favor Memphis Depay.
The Dutch winger did not have a great season last campaign and so far under new Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho he has largely found himself sitting on the bench.
Koeman is a huge fan of the 22-year-old and would like to add better competition for his wingers.
Is Depay the right target?
Big things were expected from Depay when he arrived at Old Trafford but things have just not worked out there for him.
The player has come out and said that he is open to a move as he feels that he is not progressing as a player due to the limited playing time he is getting.
While managing Southampton last season Koeman tried to sign the winger but instead, the player opted to join Manchester United for a transfer fee of 25 million pounds.
The Dutch manager failed to convince his fellow native countryman to join him at St Mary`s but will hope that this time around he will be successful.
Depay made a name for himself by scoring a total of 50 goals in 124 appearances while playing for Eindhoven.
