Southampton’s goals were scored by an own goal from Jason Denayer, Shane Long and a brace from new January signing Manolo Gabbiadini.
With their win, Southampton leapfrog Watford into 11th place in the English Premier League table on goal difference while Sunderland’s woes continue to augment as they remain deep in the relegation zone at the bottom of the league table.
