According to the latest reports, Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld is close to securing a new contract with the North London side.
If so, the Belgium international will become the club’s fourth star to sign a new deal this season.
As reported by The Mirror:
“Toby Alderweireld will be the next Tottenham star to sign a new long-term contract at White Hart Lane.
The Belgium international central defender will have three years left on his current deal at the end of the season.
Now chairman Daniel Levy wants to keep the 27-year-old at the club for the next five years.
Levy has proved to be proactive in keeping the key members of his first team squad at Spurs.
This season, the likes of Harry Kane, Jan Vertonghen and – two days ago – goalkeeper and captain Hugo Lloris agreed contract extensions. Now Spurs will work on keeping Alderweireld and agreement is expected to be reached by the end of next month.”
