Tottenham made quick work of Bournemouth as they breezed past their opponents with a 4-0 victory at White Hart Lane to register their seventh successive Premier League victory of the campaign: a fate last matched by the 1967 side.
The early Saturday kick off narrowed Chelsea’s lead at the helm to just four points, which stayed like that as the Premier League leaders fell to a tumultuous defeat away to Manchester United the following day.
The results have added an unprecedented twist to the title challenge with less than six games to go before the end of the season.
Although Spurs have a tougher run of games compared to Chelsea, Mauricio Pochettino’s charges are a fearless side that can currently take on any opponents.
As such, here are three reasons why Tottenham’s are currently the best team in England.
Flying and firing
The trio of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Son Heung-min has scored a joint total of 48 goals in the Premier League: each of them bagging 20, 16, and 12 goals respectively. Be that as it may, Spurs have the ability to deliver goals from unlikely sources, thereby posing an insurmountable threat with every attack they make.
Meanest defense
Mauricio Pochettino has an eye for talent and his ability to develop young players has increased his reputation exponentially since his days at Espanyol.
He may have brought the likes of Eric Dier and Dele Alli to the scene, but Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen have been rock solid at the back for Spurs.
Working alongside Kyle Walker and Ben Davis, the four have formed the meanest defense in the Premier League, conceding only twice in the last six games in which they have scored a staggering fifteen times.
Beautiful football
Tottenham’s primary motive may be to stop Chelsea in their tracks during the next whirlwind few weeks in the Premier League, but the Spurs boss will be expecting nothing short of beautiful football.
With full of admiration of his players, Mauricio Pochettino has instilled confidence in his players and the end result has been utter ecstasy.
The beauty and classic simplicity with which Spurs prod the ball home can only be worthy of Premier League champions…but only time will tell.
