According to the latest reports, Liverpool are keeping their tabs on Derby County star Will Hughes. The 21 year old reportedly reject a new contract from the Championship side.

As reported by The Express:

“Liverpool are reportedly on alert with the news of Will Hughes rejecting a new Derby contract.

The Reds, along with rivals Everton, have been linked with the 21-year-old prospect in the past, but the Championship outfit value the youngster at around £15 million and are keen to keep hold of him, The Mirror report.

However, after Derby officials held recent talks with Hughes, the midfielder was unimpressed with the contract offer he received.

Hughes is currently under contract until 2018 and will wait for a better offer before making any decisions on his long-term future.”

Is he needed?

Well, Liverpool seem to be stocked on midfielders, but Hughes would be a welcome addition and can possibly serve as a long-term replacement for the in-form Milner.

What do you think?
