IT has been a busy week at Chelsea FC, but even in this hectic time, the speculation never stops. Chelsea will want to make some major changes to improve the squad for rest of the season, but it is going to be difficult for them.

Chelsea might struggle to land their major targets this January since they only have a slim chance of playing in the Champions League next year. However, things can change dramatically and improvement in their performance can boost top players’ interest in the London based club.

Here are Chelsea FC’s top 10 winter transfer targets. How many can they land?

1. Karim Benzema

Spanish sources reveal that Benzema is growing tired of life at Real Madrid and is looking for a move away. He feels that he is not backed up enough by the club after facing criminal charges.

Madrid wants him to stay, but the player is reportedly unhappy. Chelsea are planning on upgrading their attack by landing the player when they have a chance.

2. Raphael Varane

Chelsea is preparing a hefty bid for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane possibly to replace John Terry. Under new management, the Blues have been given some more funds to improve the team and Guus Hiddink has set his sights on the young French defender.

3. Jackson Martinez

Chelsea are reportedly open to a swap deal between Jackson Martinez and Diego Costa. The Blues are planning on boosting their attack and the Colombian is a perfect match. The 29-year has not performed to his potential at Atletico, but might just become one of the dangerous strikers in the Premier League if he moves.

4. James Rodriguez

Chelsea owners have reportedly given the green light to pursue Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez. A report few days back revealed that the Colombian international is unsettled at Spanish capital which has alerted a few top clubs to go after him.

PSG, Manchester United and Manchester City are also reportedly interested in the player.

5. Bojan Krkic

The former Barcelona winger has flourished at Stoke City which has made him January transfer target for many top tier clubs. Chelsea might go for the winger as they are looking for a backup in the position.

Given that Bojan is getting a lot of starts at Stoke, it would be surprising if he would settle for a rotation role at the English capital.

6. Cheikh N’Doye

29-year old Angers SCO midfielder Cheikh N’Doye has been visited by numerous Premier League scouts over the past few months; Chelsea being one of them.

There is a very high chance that the Blues will place a legitimate bid for the Senegalese international.

7. John Stones

Stones has been incredible for Everton this season. After the plan to land the English defender failed last summer, Chelsea might go for him again, maybe with a higher offer.

He might be helpful for the club if they want to finish in the first half of the table.

8. Jamie Vardy

Hiddink has informed the club that he wants more attacking power in the team. He has reportedly enquired over his availability.

With Costa failing to make any impact this season, they are going after the most effective player in the Premier League this season.

9. Christian Benteke

This is the latest rumor in English media: The Blues have placed their eyes on Liverpool and Belgium forward Christian Benteke. It has been understood that he is at least in the forward wish-list for the London based club.

With Liverpool manager unhappy with Benteke’s performances, this deal might just happen.

10. Jonathan Calleri

The Argentine striker who plays for Boca Juniors is heavily linked to a move to Europe this January. His best options are Chelsea and Inter. Chelsea had previously sent scouts to investigate the 22-year old, but we just have to wait and see if they are serious about the player.

The change in the managerial regime may alter the club’s interest.

Who do you think will Chelsea sign this January?
