In Kolasinac, Arsenal have finally replaced Ashley Cole

If I had to define all of Arsenal players in a single word, it’d be ‘fluffy’.

Whether it’s mental strength or physical fitness, the Gunners have been short in both the department for years. Many expected this to change through transfers, but it didn’t, until this summer. This summer they signed the sort of player that the fans have been crying out for – Sead Kolasinac.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international has been a revelation this season for them, arguably their best player. Many are surprised to see him settle so quickly, not me. He was born to play in the greatest football league in the world.

Arsene Wenger might be getting stick from everybody, but there’s no doubt that he made one hell of a signing in Sead Kolasinac, that too for free!

The Bosnian Hulk is everything the Gunners wanted.

He’s got one heck of a left-foot, he’s consistent, his attacking prowess is getting better and better, and last but not the least – he is HUGE. Imagine if you’re a right-winger and Kolasinac comes up against you, what do you do? You stay away from him, that’s what.

Even though he’s a tank, it doesn’t look like he is. For someone of his size, his mobility on the pitch is astonishing. Thierry Henry wanted him to play at left centre-half at the start of the season, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s changed his mind now.

His attacking ability is reflected in the numbers. Already, he’s scored for Arsenal in three different competitions and has provided some beautiful assists. It’s no surprise that he was named in the Bundesliga team of the season last year.

At 24, Sead Kolasinac is entering his best years as a professional footballer. His best is surely yet to come but I’m mightily impressed by what I’ve seen so far.

Without a shadow of a doubt, he is one of the best signings of the summer and it’s fair to say that the Gunners have finally replaced Ashley Cole!
