Sensational reports in Spain have emerged, and they concern a certain Galactico. The man who is perpetually linked to Manchester United, Gareth Bale.

Diario Gol, a Spanish outlet, have reported that Bale has agreed to join Manchester United if the Red Devils qualify for Champions League football next season.

It comes are rumours circulate surrounding Madrid President Florentino Perez becoming fed up with the Welshman’s inconsistent fitness.

The winger rejected United when he decided to leave Spurs and join Madrid in 2013, going on to win two Champions League trophies whilst the Red Devils stalled under David Moyes and Louis van Gaal.

But, finally, United might be about to get their man.

The Verdict

United need to get Champions League football, that much is clear.

A home-leg against Celta Vigo and a final against Ajax – they are 4-1 up in their leg – stands in their way. You’d bet on United winning, though.

Then comes the fee: United have the biggest chequebook in European football, so money won’t be an issue.

Bale is an archetypal United player: fast, direct and attacking. His presence would be immense and you can be sure Mourinho will try everything he can to lure him to Old Trafford.
