Celtic got a hard fought 1-0 win over Hibernian on Saturday when free bet gave the chance to win some cash off betting and this came as the 100th game under Brendan Rodgers. It was Leigh Griffiths who scored the only goal in the match that made the Hoops claim maximum points against his former and boyhood club at Parkhead.
It only took him 27th minute before he found the net in what was his 14th goal of the season and was eventually substituted in the twilight part of the match.
It was an emotional day for both Rodgers and Griffiths as both had something the match stands for, 100th game and boyhood club respectively. After a 2-2 draw in their previous meeting, Celtic were desperate to get one over the Hibbs this season and the 1-0 win gave them the much needed result.
The visitors were also up to the challenge that Celtic had on the day especially in the early stage of the match but they could not concert their chances later in the game. Griffiths could have scored earlier through a free kick after midfielder, Callum McGregor was fouled outside the box but Dylan McGeouc in goal for Hibbs punched the ball towards Scott Sinclair who could only hit the woodwork.
Another chance saw Griffiths missed from a Sinclair nicely placed pass. Craig Brandon was also busy on the day as he had to be at the rescue after Brandon Baker dribble past the Celtic defence.
Griffiths scored his goal after some defensive error from the Hibbs captain but the Scotland striker refused to celebrate against his former side.
Another point to note in the match was when Moussa Dembele came on for Griffiths. This was the first time the French man will be in action this year. He had little action to report apart from his yellow card for diving.
All Celtic will hope for now is that Griffiths should not sustain any major injury as their Europa league tie against Zenith St Petersburg is around the corner.
