Chelsea will battle with Manchester City for the services of Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri.
The Sun are reporting that the Premier League Champions (still Chelsea, City could yet face disaster) are set to test the Ligue 1 club’s resolve.
Conte is targeting another midfielder, despite already acquiring the services of Ross Barkley from Everton in a 15 million pound deal.
Pep Guardiola eyes Seri as a replacement for the exit-bound Yaya Toure.
Seri’s buy out clause stands at 35 million pounds.
This represents good money in today inflated market and any club seeking to bring in an imposing, combative and creative midfielder need look no further than the Ivorian.
Seri was a huge factor in Nice’s Ligue 1 success last year and one of Europe’s hottest prospects.
Both sides will want to land the midfielder, and the choice may ultimately end up in Seri’s lap. As Manchester City have found out in the Alexis Sanchez saga, that is not always a good thing.
