Manchester United starlet Angel Gomes could be snapped up by Borussia Dortmund, according to reports.
The Daily Mail are running a story that Gomes is stalling on contract talks and is a target for the German giants.
Dortmund have already stolen one bright Manchester-based youngster – Jordan Sancho swapped the Etihad for Germany over the summer, and Gomes may do the same.
Gomes and Sancho are friends from their time together during the England youth step up and this may influence proceedings.
Manchester United losing a very promising youngster? Sounds familiar.
Now, to compare Gomes with Paul Pogba would be irresponsible, but it should’ve taught the reds a lesson: hold on to your brightest talents until you are sure they won’t make it.
United need to agree a contract with Gomes – his potential is well documented and he is one of England’s most promising stars.
If United were to lose Gomes it would also strike a blow to the Reds’ fabled and historic academy system.
