Real Madrid have identified Spurs star Harry Kane as a striking option in next summer’s window, according to TalkSport.

Madrid will make Alexis Sanchez their priority, but should a deal fall through, they will splash the cash to land Kane. Sanchez, of course, was close to a move to Manchester City and most outlets are reporting that he will join Pep Guardiola on a free at the end of the season.

It has been reported that Madrid see Kane as a natural heir to Cristiano Ronaldo, who turns 33 shortly.

The Verdict

Whilst this deal seems sensational, it actually makes a great deal of sense if you are Real Madrid. Their front line is ageing: Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale are all approaching declining years.

Bringing in Kane, who is regarded as one of the world’s best strikers, would be a refreshing change to the traditional front three and complement young gun Asensio who is tipped to be a star.

With the fees that were thrown around this summer, if Kane were to go to Madrid one would have to speculate that he’d only be sold for over £100 million, pushing £150 million.
