Tottenham are eyeing up a bid for Paris Saint Germain’s Serge Aurier, according to The Mirror.

Mauricio Pochettino has identified Aurier as a potential replacement for Kyle Walker, who looks set for a White Hart Exit.

Manchester City are reportedly close to signing to England international after not being put off by a £50 million transfer fee.

Aurier, aged 24, has two years left on his contract at PSG and is said to be interested in exploring options outside of Ligue 1.

The Verdict

It seems likely that Walker will bid farewell this summer, so the hunt is definitely on for a replacement.

Kieran Trippier has done well for Spurs this season, but with Tottenham competing on various fronts next season and Pochettino’s wish for the rotation of his full-backs it is more than likely that a new right-back will be at the club come the end of the window.

Aurier would represent good business by Spurs, though there has been no report of a potential transfer fee; yet, one would imagine it would be a lot lower than the income Walker’s sale would bring.

Aurier is an experienced international with bags of energy: his tenacity and attacking endeavour would complement Pochettino’s style.
